Tips for Making Your Bathroom Look More Luxurious

by | Feb 11, 2022 | Blog | 0 comments

Though they’re one of the smallest rooms in a home, bathrooms are one of the most expensive to renovate. Not everyone is able to afford the upfront costs of the labor and materials.

However, there are ways around this. By choosing smaller, more effective renovations and by utilizing the right bathroom products, you can make your bathroom look much more luxurious.

Combine White and a Single-Color Accent

White walls, countertops, and cabinets lend a simple and elegant look to your bathroom. Contrast this with bath towels and rugs with a dark, neutral color to give it a more sophisticated feel. Other bath accessories could work as accents as well.

The important thing is that white is the dominant color and you repeatedly use a single color for the accent. This is an inexpensive way to make your bathroom look much more clean and modern.

Gold Accents

Another elegant accent you can use is gold. A bit of brass or other gold-toned metal will add some warmth to a bathroom filled with muted colors. You need to get the shade and finish right though. Otherwise, it can look gaudy or garish. Consider a satin or antique brass faucet and towel rail.

Tile Diagonally

If you’re having your bathroom tiled, take the opportunity to have it tiled diagonally instead of along a vertical or horizontal line. This little trick gets you more aesthetic value out of the same materials.

Typical bathrooms have vertical and horizontal lines everywhere. They’re in the door, mirror, cabinet, and the edges between the floor, walls, and ceiling. Diagonal tiling provides a subtle contrast and breaks the monotony.

Add Plants

Plants add a lovely, natural accent to the cold, hard tiles and stone of bathrooms. Simply place some on your vanity or near the bathtub. You can also draw attention upward by hanging them, making the space appear larger.

Don’t put just any plant in your bathroom though. You need plants that thrive in humidity such as the Zanzibar gem, the Boston fern, and peace lilies.

Use Classy Containers

Most plastic shampoo and lotion container designs aren’t usually conducive to a luxurious look. They’re not ugly per se, they’re just not designed to compliment your bathroom’s specific look.

While you could buy luxury toiletry brands, the more economic and aesthetically pleasing choice is to buy a few beautiful glass bottles or dispensers. Transfer your shampoo, body wash, and lotions into those, and your bathroom will look much more classy even if you’re using inexpensive commercial brands.

Add Some Marble

Marble tiles, bathroom accessories, and vanity countertops provide an elegant, sophisticated aesthetic. However, real marble is expensive. You can instead opt for faux marble. It’s much more cost-effective, more durable, and is often very convincing.

Utilize a Monogram

Monograms are motifs made up of two or more letters. They’re staples in sophisticated bathrooms and add a personal touch. You can mark bath towels, tissue boxes, or even the back of a chair if you have one in your bathroom.

Hang Artwork

Not many people realize that they can hang artwork in their bathrooms. They add visual variety and make it feel a bit more extravagant.

Canvas prints are usually safe to hang in bathrooms as they have moisture-resistant coatings. Don’t start hanging expensive art in there, though. Use inexpensive, replaceable prints instead. Just purchase a few prints you like online and frame them.

It’s possible to hang anything you want in your bathroom if you can create a completely sealed frame enclosure. However, you’ll likely need to hire a professional to manufacture it for you.

Buy New Bathroom Products

Replacing worn out faucets and shower heads will make your bathroom feel much cleaner and and more elegant. Fortunately, Tile Importer provides stylish, high-quality bathroom fixtures at competitive prices.
