It has the look and feel of a conventional deck, but it has a bushfire attack level rating of BAL-40. As such, it’s suitable for use in communities that experience attack levels of BAL-40, BAL-29, BAL-19 and BAL-12.5.

Flame Shield® is available in the 137mm x 23mm profile by order only. Just like other ModWood products, Flame Shield® has an anti-slip rating of R11.

The Sustainable Choice

ModWood decks give you a stylish property with a low environmental impact.

As part of ModWood’s commitment to reduce Australia’s waste, its decking boards are made of reused materials. Each lineal metre of decking contains about 37 recycled plastic bottles, as well as 2kg of reclaimed pine waste. The wood fibre used to make the boards came from sustainably managed pine that’s certified by the Australian Forestry Standard.

Tip.   To calculate how many lineal meters of flooring or decking you need first you must work out the total square meterage required.   If you have a simple square space multiply length by width and this gets you the square meters.   If it’s a more complex space break it down in to rectangular sections and multiply length and width and then add the total.   Once you have this follow the below simple equation.

1000 x (Width of flooring board or decking board allowing your preferred gap between boards in millimeters)   =  How many lineal meters per square meter.   Now multiply this by the square meterage you require and you have your total.   For example.

Your deck is 2 meters wide and 4 meters long and you want to put down 88mm Modwood Decking with a 3mm gap between boards.

2 x 4 = 8 Square meters

1000 divided by 83 = 11.36 lineal meters per square meters

8 x 10.75  = 90.9 lineal meters

Note; Allow up to 10% extra for wastage.
